How to delete your account in Gray Horizon, the game by Nikola Filić on the web and on Google Play, and what is deleted and what is kept.

How to delete your account

In the game

  1. Sign in to Gray Horizon, in the app or at play.grayhorizon.world.
  2. Open Settings and go to Account and security.
  3. Under Leave, press Delete my account.
  4. We email you a code. Enter it and press Delete it permanently.

It takes effect at once, and it cannot be undone.

By email

If you cannot sign in, email hello@grayhorizon.world from the address you sign in with, and name your citizen. We delete the account and tell you by email when it is done, within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your email address.
  • Every way to sign in: email codes, and Google or Discord sign-in, with the account identifier and email address those services gave us.
  • Every signed-in device is signed out, and alerts to your devices stop.

What is kept, and for how long

Your citizen is not erased, because other players' records depend on it. It shows as a deleted account, and its name is never given to anybody else. What stays with it:

  • What happened in the world: elections, offices, battles, trades and money moved, and the articles you published.
  • Pictures you uploaded and messages you wrote, unless you remove them first or ask us to by email.
  • The record of what you did in the game. For 90 days it also notes the browser you used and the site the request came from; after that, those two details are cleared.
  • Past sign-in records, which hold a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address.

All of this is kept only as long as the world lasts. Gray Horizon is in alpha, and the alpha world will be deleted when the alpha ends, with everything in it.

Backups made before your deletion still hold your old data until they age out, at most about thirteen months later.

Delete some data and keep your account

In the game, at any time:

  • Remove a picture you uploaded. The stored file is deleted.
  • Unlink Discord from your profile.
  • Remove a way you sign in, as long as one is left.
  • Turn alerts off on a device. Its push address is deleted.
  • Delete an unpublished draft, or take back an article you published.

For anything else, email hello@grayhorizon.world and say what you want deleted. We reply within 30 days.
