Gray Horizon vs Rival Regions
Rival Regions gives you the real world's regions, and the Moon, and lets players build their own states out of them. Gray Horizon keeps the real countries: you join one of 196 and live with its government, or change it.

The map
In Rival Regions the map is regions, and a state is whatever players make of them. In Gray Horizon the countries are fixed and real: 755 provinces in 196 countries, each starting with the kind of government it has today. Borders move, but only by treaty.
What money buys
Rival Regions sells gold and a Premium account. Its own wiki says Premium raises the most Energy you can hold from 200 to 300 and adds an auto mode at work and in wars. In Gray Horizon Energy is never for sale, and nothing is on sale during the alpha.
On a phone
Rival Regions' Android app was updated in July 2026; its iPhone app was last updated in May 2018. Gray Horizon is the same game in any phone's browser, iPhone included, and on Google Play for Android.
Which one is for you
Pick Rival Regions if you want to draw your own country on the map, in a game that has been running for more than ten years.
Pick Gray Horizon if you want to be a citizen of a real country, with Energy that nobody can buy.
